Downtime questions
- How is the cost of downtime calculated?
- We combine lost trading revenue for the hours you are offline with the cost of staff who cannot work, using your own revenue, headcount and average wage inputs. Reputational and recovery costs are excluded, so the figure is conservative.
- What uptime should I expect from a hosting provider?
- 99.9% still allows nearly nine hours of downtime a year. Our managed agreements commit to 99.99%, which is under an hour annually, backed by monitoring every 60 seconds and a 15-minute P1 response.
- Does downtime include planned maintenance?
- In our agreements, planned maintenance inside an agreed window is excluded, and we schedule it outside your trading hours. Unplanned outages count against the commitment.
