What is the ACSC Essential Eight?

The Essential Eight is a set of eight baseline mitigation strategies published by the Australian Cyber Security Centre. It is the benchmark most insurers, auditors and enterprise customers now measure Australian businesses against.

What maturity level do we need?

Most small and mid-sized Australian businesses target Maturity Level One as a floor, moving to Level Two where they handle sensitive data or supply government and enterprise clients. We advise based on your obligations and risk appetite.

How long does an Essential Eight uplift take?

A gap assessment takes one to two weeks. Remediation is usually staged over one to three months, prioritising multi-factor authentication, patching and backups first because they remove the most risk per dollar.
